What To Expect

Our service begins promptly at 10:30 with songs of praise and worship to God.  Although we do not currently use a live band, we make use of excellent gospel song tracks to accompany our singing.  Songs are usually contemporary but we do include some traditional ones from time to time.

Following praise and worship, a passage of Scripture is read.  One of our leaders will share announcements and upcoming events, after which the congregation will be given an opportunity to give their tithes and offerings to God.  (This is the only time during the service that an offering is collected.)  Next, members share what God is doing in their lives during “Testimony Time.” After this time of sharing, we enjoy a special song in order to prepare our hearts and minds for the sermon.

Sermons at T.L.C. usually last between 45 minutes to an hour.  They are usually based on a wide variety of subjects with a strong emphasis on personal application.  Our congregation is quite responsive to the Word so it is not unusual to hear a hearty “Amen!” as the message is being preached.  There may be an opportunity to respond to the message at the end with prayer at the altar.  A closing prayer, followed by a benediction marks the conclusion of our service.

Right after our service ends, we enjoy a meal prepared by one of our members.  It is a time filled with laughter, sharing and getting to know our guests better.  Expect an invitation to one of our many get-togethers and also be sure to declare your favorite sports team.  The rivalry at T.L.C. is friendly but fierce!
